This year, the Orillia Curling Club will sweep their way into the record books, curling for their 150th year in Orillia.
"We are thrilled that we have been going for 150 years straight," said board member Charlene Ley.
Since 1873, the Orillia Curling Club has been through two world wars, the Boer War, three fires, one roof collapse, a building not meeting code, over 100 presidents, many different executives, and volunteers, and even an eleven-year hiatus where there was no physical curling facility in the city of Orillia and curlers traveled to various local communities.
Nothing has stopped the curling club from being open to its members for curling.
Although nothing is planned yet, board members say keep checking your emails as you never know what celebrations they have planned for the Orillia Curling Club's 150th Anniversary.
