It is an easy process and made easier by checking out this video!

Is curling expensive?
No, it isn’t! If you have never curled before, our club has brooms and sliders available for use. If you want to join for a full season, half season, or try our Player's cards! If you are a New Member that has not curled with our club in the last 5 years, you can get an additional 25% off your membership!

I have never curled before and don’t want to commit to a big membership.
We were all in your position at one time. That’s why we created several options to help you. First, there is a Pay to Play option. You can pay $20 and come out most Sunday afternoons with other “newbies” and give it a try! We will have trainers on hand to show you the basics and take part in a game.  For those who want to test the waters to see if curling is for them, check out our Player's Cards!

Another option is Corporate or Private Curling Socials which is a private group training session booked through the club at the cost of $20 per participant.   Check out the event section of the website for more information.

Is there training for new members?

Yes there is.    During our opening weekend (October 12th and 13th, 2024) we provide 2.5 hour training sessions for new curlers and 2nd year curlers.    Training sessions are scheduled for 9:30 to 12:00, and 12:30 to 3:00 each day.  Second year curlers can also come out for refreshers with the curling instructors.      Once you register to be a member, go to the Events tab on the website and then Events Registration and pick the date and time you will attend the training.

If I register for a membership, but find out at the opening weekend training session that I can't continue, can I get a refund.

Absolutley!  If you notify us before the start of league play (which is the week immediately following the opening weekend) that you can't continue, you will receive a full refund.

I am not a competitive person and feel intimidated when I’m not very good.
Don’t. In fact, most of our leagues are fun leagues. Obviously, we do have competitive leagues but you can join fun leagues in a "lead" position and as you get more comfortable and improve, you can move up!

I want to curl but also really just want to meet people.
Perfect! You will see how friendly and welcoming our members are. Often curling gets in the way of fun on-ice conversations! After the game, the comradery continues in the lounge with other team members! In some leagues such as “Tag” draws, you play with different people each week. In others, it’s the same team for half the season.

Filling out forms and cheques, mailing them in or having to drop them off is a lot of work. Is there an easier way to register?
Absolutely! In fact, registering online is a much better experience and in fact, is easier for us! You can email the club for a membership login and do the entire process online. When you finish you can pay by Visa or MasterCard if you want!

What if I need to miss a game?
We have taken that problem away. Usually, if a team has a bye that day, you could contact one of those players. Otherwise, you can go to the "Find a Spare" in the member's section of the website and email spares for the specific league.   All this is done right from your member account.

Can I spare in other leagues?
Yes. In your member account, you can indicate your sparing availability. It will give you a chance to experience other leagues and meet new people.

What if I need to stop due to health or life changes?
No one can predict the future - not even you, and life happens. In the event that you need to stop playing, the club will calculate the remainder of the season for which you have paid and determine an equitable refund.
