Santa is looking forward to having his little helpers’ have a successful and fun filled day at the curling club. He asks that every participant bring a wrapped HOME-MADE gift not to exceed $10, please no store-bought gifts. His elves have worked hard to find some special games to play and there may be some naughty gifts for those who haven’t been good.

Home made gifts could include any of the following:cookies, tarts, fudge, candy, squares, jam, pickles, salsa, homemade wine etc. or items such as homemade ornaments, wreaths, Christmas arrangements, jewellery, soap, candles, bird houses or other home-made items created by knitting, crocheting, painting, sewing, rug hooking etc. etc.

Santa suggests looking on PINTEREST for some inspiration. Santa thanks his little helpers

PS If a player can only play one game that player needs to find another player to take your place for the second game.

Re: Instructors and Board Vacancies
I am pleased to report that board of directors has approved the formation of a Membership Committee.  After a couple of meetings with directors, coaches, convenors and members, Charlene Ley has agreed to chair the MC. The primary focus for the MC is in three areas: awareness, recruitment and retention of members.

That said, the Board of Directors has vacancies for the next curling season: Vice President, Secretary and Bonspiel Coordinator.

Please consider stepping up to assist your club in these leadership positions.  I guarantee that you will learn things about the club, board governance and running efficient meetings.
The club also needs more instructors.

The Ontario Curling Assoc is running a clinic in Stayner for one weekend in November.  I have reserved 4 spaces.  The board has agreed to cover the cost of registration about $1,000.  In return, the new instructors will assist with Learn to Curl and in house instruction of members.
Anyone interested and willing to take on more responsibility on the board or becoming an instructor, please contact me.
